ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (APP):Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of incarcerated Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, on Wednesday paid solemn tribute to the victims of the Bijbehara massacre, declaring that their sacrifice will never be in vain.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Mushaal emphasized that the blood of the martyrs is the lifeblood of the Kashmir freedom movement. “Living and conscious nations never forget their martyrs,” she said, underscoring the enduring significance of their sacrifice.
Recalling the tragic events of October 1993, Mushaal noted that over 50 civilians were martyred and dozens injured when Indian occupation forces opened fire in Bijbehara.
She described the incident as one of the most harrowing examples of state-sponsored violence in Kashmir’s history.
“Even after 32 years, not a single Indian official has been held accountable,” she lamented.
“The perpetrators continue to enjoy legal immunity and state patronage, while the families of the victims still await justice. This should be a matter of grave concern for the international community.”
Mushaal condemned India’s longstanding strategy of using force to suppress Kashmiri aspirations for freedom. “Despite relentless oppression, the Kashmiri people have shown unmatched resilience and courage. No power can force them to surrender their land, identity, or freedom,” she asserted.
She reaffirmed her belief that the movement, sustained by the sacred blood of martyrs, will ultimately reach its just and dignified conclusion.
Mushaal called upon global human rights organizations and the United Nations to investigate the massacres and human rights violations in Kashmir, and to hold India accountable for its war crimes on the international stage.
