Mushaal Mulick urges peaceful talks to end Kashmir deadlock, offers to mediate

ISLAMABAD, Jun 08 (APP):Mushaal Hussain Mulick, a prominent Kashmiri political leader, social activist and wife of jailed freedom fighter Yasin Malik, on Monday delivered a video message to urge both the government and protesters to keep negotiations open and pursue peaceful, political and constitutional solutions to end the Kashmir related deadlock, saying she is ready to act as a mediator to prevent violence that she warned could be exploited by India.
Addressing the recent unrest in the region, she called on all parties to reject disorder, hatred and violence as means of resolving disputes, and appealed equally to her government and to demonstrators to keep the door to dialogue ajar.
Ms Mulick urged protesters to channel remaining demands through political and constitutional processes rather than street confrontation, arguing that saving the state is a shared, fundamental responsibility.
“Our living and dying are the same; we must live in this state,” she said, invoking the memory and duty owed to Kashmiri martyrs and noting that people in occupied Kashmir are watching developments closely.
Warning that India may look for opportunities to exploit instability, Ms Mulick said the neighbouring country had lost the war over Kashmir and cautioned against allowing external adversaries to benefit from domestic divisions.
She praised the Field Marshal’s efforts toward global peace and implored all sides to resolve the issue by peaceful means.
Offering herself as a neutral intermediary, Ms Mulick said she is prepared to facilitate talks and help end the stalemate between government and protesters.
She urged that popular support be exercised through ballots and parliament rather than through confrontation on the streets.
