Mushaal greets nation on Independence Day, calls for unity

ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP): Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of jailed hurriyat leader Yasin Malik and chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation, on 14th August extended her heartiest greetings to the nation on Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, calling for unity, national cohesion and an unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s identity and strength.

Addressing an Independence Day ceremony, she said the “Maarka-e-Haq” had further enhanced Pakistan’s prestige and played an important role in the victory of the Pakistani people.

Mushaal said the Makkah agreement is another important example of Pakistan’s growing strength and unity.

Referring to Kashmir, she stressed that efforts for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue should not be undermined by creating division or spreading unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

“August 14 is a very important day for all of us,” she said, adding that the occasion should remind the nation of the sacrifices behind Pakistan’s creation and its responsibility to protect the country’s unity and identity.

Mushaal said the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir had faced the worst forms of oppression, adding that their suffering must not be forgotten.

She urged Pakistanis to remain united as one nation and never lose sight of their national identity.

“Under the flag of Pakistan, we must firmly hold on to the principles of faith and unity,” she said.

Mushaal also called on the nation, particularly young people, to maintain a positive outlook and remain determined in the pursuit of their goals.

“Keep a positive mindset so that success stays with you,” she said.

She stressed that Pakistan’s strength and progress depended on unity, cohesion and a collective commitment to building a peaceful, stable and prosperous future.
