ISLAMABAD, Aug 26 (APP): Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation and wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, on Wednesday expressed deep grief over the deaths of innocent children in a fire at the children’s ward of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad, and called for effective safety measures at hospitals to protect patients and children from such tragedies.
Mullick described the fire as an “extremely heartbreaking” incident, saying the deaths of innocent children had turned the happiness of several families into grief.
She said the pain and anguish being endured by the parents of the deceased children could not be expressed in words.
“The loss of these innocent lives is a shock for every sensitive heart,” she said, expressing solidarity with the bereaved families.
Mushaal Mullick prayed that Allah Almighty grant the deceased children a place in His mercy and give patience and strength to their families to bear the tragic loss.
She urged the authorities to ensure effective safety arrangements in hospitals, particularly in wards housing children, to safeguard patients and prevent such incidents in the future.
