Musadik reaffirms Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiris
ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP): Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Senator Dr. Musadik Malik reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
In a message issued on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, the minister said that the country’s political, diplomatic and moral backing for their just struggle would continue at every international forum.
He said India’s unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, which revoked the special constitutional status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), were illegal, unacceptable and in violation of the United Nations Charter, relevant UN Security Council resolutions and international law.
He said Pakistan would continue extending political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and would keep raising the Kashmir issue at regional and international forums until the Kashmiri people were able to exercise their internationally recognised right to self-determination.
Senator Musadik Malik urged the United Nations, international human rights organisations and the global community to play their due role in ensuring the protection of the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people and the implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
He said Pakistan remained committed to peace, justice and respect for international law, adding that lasting peace and stability in South Asia could only be achieved through a just and peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The minister said Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir served as a reminder of the international community’s responsibility to uphold justice and human dignity.
Paying tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, he reiterated that the government and people of Pakistan stood in complete solidarity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and would continue supporting their legitimate struggle for justice, peace and self-determination.
