Murtaza Abbasi inspects under-construction solar power Parliament project

ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP): Acting Speaker National Assembly
Murtaza Javed Abbasi inspected under construction Green Parliament
Solar Power Project here Wednesday.
He expressed his satisfaction on the pace of work and directed
for early completion of the construction of solar power
infrastructure, said a press release.
The project manager briefed the Acting Speaker in detail about
the ongoing work at the project and assured that the construction
work would be completed within the stipulated time.
He said that the state of the art solar project would generate
1 MW power which would meet the substantial energy requirements of
the Parliament House, besides providing an aesthetically designed
parking area in harmony with the surrounding buildings.
The Acting Speaker said that Parliament of Pakistan was indeed
grateful to their Chinese friends for their everlasting gift of
meeting energy requirement of the Parliament through renewable
resources. He said that China was a time tested and all-weather friend of
Pakistan and had always supported it in its development endeavours.
He said that after commissioning of this project, the
Parliament would have the distinction to be the first
ever green parliament relaying on renewable energy resources.
Later, the Acting Speaker visited and examined the work on the
under construction main entry gate of the Parliament House.
He directed the CDA for completion of the project within two
months.Earlier, the Acting Speaker visited the Chairman Senate in his
chamber to condole the death of his father-in-law late Yawar Saeed.
He offered Fateha for the departed soul and prayed for the
grant of fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
He also paid rich tributes to late Yawar Saeed for his
services rendered in promotion of cricket in the country.
