ISLAMABAD, Jan 26 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Engineer Amir Muqam on Monday described India’s Republic Day as a “Black Day” for the people of Kashmir, citing the continued denial of their right to self-determination.
He said New Delhi was projecting a façade of democracy while perpetuating human rights violations in the occupied territory. “Human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir continue unabated,” he remarked, adding that India’s conduct was a blot on the reputation of democratic nations.
The minister condemned rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, terming them grave and ongoing.

He noted that Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control, as well as supporters worldwide, were observing India’s Republic Day as a day of protest.
Muqam reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and urged the international community to take notice of what he called ongoing Indian atrocities in the region.
