Muqam, AJK PM discuss development priorities
ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP):Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Engineer Amir Muqam on Thursday met Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani and discussed matters relating to development and public welfare.
The federal minister was warmly received at the Prime Minister’s House upon his arrival. During the meeting, Muqam presented a bouquet to the AJK prime minister and conveyed his best wishes on assuming office.
The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including ongoing development activities in AJK, public welfare projects and the region’s development needs, said a press released issued here.
Muqam assured the AJK government of continued cooperation and support from the federal government to help achieve its development priorities and complete public welfare projects.
He said the federal government would ensure effective coordination with the AJK government to accelerate the development process and improve the provision of basic amenities to the people.
Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani thanked the federal minister for his visit and good wishes. He appreciated the federal government’s assurance of continued support and assistance for AJK’s development priorities.
The meeting also discussed measures to further improve coordination between the federal and AJK governments and strengthen cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
