MULTAN, Sept 6 (APP): Like other parts of the country, Pakistan Defence Day was also marked in Multan Corps with traditional enthusiasm, here on Tuesday.

A good number of masses joined ceremonies including arms display, organized by Multan Corps in connection with Defence Day, said a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR).

Addressing the main ceremony at Yadgar-e-Shuhda, Corps Commander Multan Lt. Gen. Ashfaq Nadeem paid rich tribute to the brave soldiers who embraced martyrdom to protect dear homeland. He stated that the brave forces achieved numerous successes against enemy when it attacked in darkness of night. The enemy could not achieve anything except humiliating defeat, he added. The whole Pakistani nation was celebrating the day with great enthusiasm, he maintained.

He also reiterated the pledge that sacrifices of brave army men would not go waste and also added that armed forces would foil all nefarious designs of enemies in future also. “We will sacrifice our lives to protect the dear homeland,” he added.

On this occasion, families of martyrs from Multan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and other cities were also present.
