ISLAMABAD, Jun 23 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have constituted special monitoring and vigilance teams for Muharram-ul-Haram 2025, dividing the federal capital into five security divisions to ensure strict implementation of the security plan and uninterrupted monitoring of religious activities.
An official told APP on Monday that senior officers of ICT Police have been assigned duties to supervise and coordinate security operations in each division.
Director General (DG) Safe City Shakir Hussain Dawar and Additional Inspector General (AIG) Logistics Abdul Haq Umrani will oversee security arrangements in the Rural Division.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Law and Order Muhammad Ateeque Tahir and AIG Operations Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaeb have been tasked with the I-Area (Industrial Area) Division.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Safe City Muhammad Iqbal and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) ARF Ghulam Mustafa will supervise the Saddar Division.
DIG Security Ali Raza along with SSP Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Captain (R) Hamzah Hamayun will monitor the City Division.
SSP CPC & Training Shams Durrani and AIG Investigation Syed Inayat Ali Shah will oversee the Soan Division.
The officers have been directed to submit daily reports and performance evaluations to the Central Police Office (CPO) for review by the competent authority.
Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, stated that the purpose of forming these dedicated teams is to ensure real-time monitoring of Muharram-related duties, rapid response to emerging situations, and maintenance of peace across the capital during the holy month.
