Mostly dry weather expected across Pakistan on Friday; light rain likely in GB

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather in most parts of the country on Friday, with only a few areas in Gilgit-Baltistan expected to experience light rain and thunderstorms.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 12 (APP): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather in most parts of the country on Friday, with only a few areas in Gilgit-Baltistan expected to experience light rain and thunderstorms.
According to the PMD, Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to remain dry with partly cloudy skies. Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab will also experience dry conditions, although gusty winds are likely in some parts of Punjab.
Hot and dry weather will prevail in Sindh, while Balochistan is expected to remain dry throughout the day.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy conditions are expected, with light rain and thunderstorms possible in isolated locations in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The department also issued a note that winds from Iran may carry pollutants, which could reduce air quality in the western parts of Pakistan.
The recent maximum temperatures recorded across the country include 39 C in Mithi, Chhor, and Padidan, and 38 C in Karachi and Shaheed Benazirabad.
