Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda

ISLAMABAD, April 30 (APP):Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda Tuesday said the foundation stone of Mohmand Dam would be laid down on Thursday by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing a press conference, he said the present government had not let the project politicized as many internal and external elements tried to make it controversial just like Kalabagh Dam.
He said the government had also invited Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa and former Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to attend the ground-breaking ceremony.
Faisal Vawda said the government had saved Rs18 billion from the estimated cost of the project despite increase in the dollar rupee parity ratio.
He said the government would also construct small dams in the provinces including 29 dams in Balochistan.
Acknowledging the role of the former Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, and COAS he said both the dignitaries helped a lot to make a 54-year old project into a reality.
