ISLAMABAD, Nov 23 (APP): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs here on
Wednesday organized a painting exhibition by a renowned Pakistani Artist, Jimmy Engineer.
The theme of the exhibition was “To honour the Sacrifices of the Martyrs from 1947 to date in the Cause of Pakistan”.
Jimmy Engineer born in 1954 in Balochistan (Loralai), Pakistan. He hails from a prominent Zoroastrian family. His alma mater is National College of Arts (NCA).
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, was the
chief guest on the occassion.
Speaking to the guests, he praised Jimmy Engineer who has numerous
paintings and calligraphic work to his credit.
He said that the exhibition was specially arranged to pay tributes to
the martyrs and national heroes.
Foreign Secretary Aitzaz Ahmed Chaudhry on the occasion, stated that
paintings depicted history of the country as well as its culture and traditions.
Jimmy Engineer in his remarks stated that he considered himself a
servant of his country and that it was his pleasure to serve his country through art.
The event evinced an enthusiastic response from the diplomatic corps
based in Islamabad who attended it in large number.
It is the constant endeavour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to
arrange public diplomacy events in order to project Pakistan’s culture, art, heritage and ethos both at home and abroad.
