ISLAMABAD, Nov 4 (APP):Civil society activists in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir  (IIOJK) have said that Modi regime can’t crush the Kashmiris’ spirit for freedom by using brutal force and muzzling voices of dissent.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the activists, including lawyers, academics and human rights defenders who wished not to be named due to fear of reprisal, said Modi can kill Kashmiris but cannot kill their dreams for freedom and right to self-determination as mandated by UN resolutions.
They said India must bear in mind that those yearning for freedom can’t be subdued through brutal tactics and military oppression, and popular movements can never be defeated by force.
“India can’t stop the Kashmiris’ march for freedom by muzzling their voices of dissent. Kashmiris will prefer death over submitting to Indian military might,” said a Srinagar-based civil society member.
The activists said Kashmiris will continue sacrificing their lives till freedom from Indian clutches and their sacred blood shed to achieve freedom from Indian yoke will not go in vain.
They maintained that resolution of the Kashmir dispute is only possible through realization of the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the world must come forward to pressure India to honour its commitments.
They said despite killings, arrests, house detentions of leaders like Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and ban on civil society voices, Kashmiris will not be silenced and Kashmir will prevail.
