ISLAMABAD, Apr 30 (APP):Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage (NH&LH), Irfan Siddiqui Monday said recently launched online edition of “Kuliyat-i-Iqbal” and its mobile application will prove as a milestone toward promotion of thoughtful messages of Allama Muhammad Iqbal among youth.
The online edition of Kuliyat-i-Iqbal and its mobile application was launched during the inaugural day of National Iqbal Conference arranged by Iqbal Academy of Pakistan recently at Lahore.
“Readers can now access over 630 poetic verses of Allama Iqbal from his four Urdu poetic works including Bang-e-Dra, Bal-e-Jibril, Armaghan-e-Hijaz and Zarb-e-Kaleem through internet and mobile application”, Irfan Siddiqui said while talking to APP.
He said NH&LH division is utilizing the latest information technology for disseminating Iqbal’s revolutionary ideas and messages among younger generation and launch of this mobile application of Iqbal works during the inaugural day of National Iqbal Conference is among one of those efforts.
Irfan Siddiqui said this application will enable the readers to access the required poetic verse of Iqbal through writing initial, middle or last word of the verse in search box. English translation of every verse is also available, which is a distinctive feature of this application, he added.
The videos based on different poetic verses, poems and ghazals of Allama Iqbal will also be available through this application which the users can share with others, using the facility of different social media networks and email within the application.
To a question, Irfan Siddiqui said although “Kalam-i-Iqbal” was earlier available on the internet but this new mobile application prepared by Iqbal Academy of Pakistan is carrying the authentic and accurate version of Iqbal’s works.
He said this application has been made available through Android system and will be available on iphone system within the period of two months.
Irfan Siddiqui revealed that the project of preparing mobile application of Persian poetic works of Allama Iqbal is also under-completion.
He also mentioned that 22-volumes Urdu Dictionary with stock of over 2, 64,000 words was recently launched with the efforts of Urdu Dictionary Board and is now available through internet.
