ISLAMABAD, June 9 (APP): Ministries of Science and Technology (S&T) and Defence Production Thursday signed a collaboration framework agreement to make advancement in producing quality items.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Defence Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain said the collaboration between the two ministries was the beginning of a new era of increased cooperation for the technology and scientific advancement.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers from both the ministries.
“This is a positive initiative taken by the two ministries, as it will help develop more quality products for both the defence and the civil commercial sides.”
According to the framework, the two ministries would have extensive
meetings of relevant teams for targeting the areas of mutual interests including marketing, promotion, sale/purchase of the jointly developed products and technologies.
Besides, the concerned organizations would be bound to submit a monthly progress report to their respective ministries and the focal persons.
“The framework will ensure a continuous and efficient working relationship between the two ministries,” the minister said.
He said the present government was fully committed to take new initiatives in the right direction for progress and prosperity of the country.
The framework of collaboration document was signed by Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology Fazal Abbas Maken and Secretary Ministry of Defence Production Lt. General (Retd.) Syed Muhammad Owais.
Minister for Science and Technology, and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain witnessed the signing ceremony along with other senior officers from attached departments and wings of the ministries.
