ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, held an important meeting in Doha with a 40-member delegation representing over 300,000 overseas Pakistani workers residing in Qatar.
The delegation comprised entrepreneurs, senior professionals, and representatives of both skilled and semi-skilled workers.
Secretary Workers Welfare Fund, Zulfiqar Ahmed, and Pakistan’s Deputy Head of Mission in Doha were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the Federal Minister attentively listened to the concerns and suggestions of the Pakistani community.
He informed the delegation that, following the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, most of the proposals presented during the Overseas Pakistanis Conference held in Islamabad, have already been implemented, while work on the remaining recommendations is progressing rapidly.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain instructed the Deputy Head of Mission to initiate an awareness campaign highlighting the various welfare initiatives introduced by the Government of Pakistan for overseas Pakistanis, ensuring that more community members can benefit from these services.
He further directed that, in the unfortunate event of the death of any overseas Pakistani, their family must be provided with comprehensive guidance and support in processing insurance claims.
The minister emphasized that the welfare of overseas Pakistani workers remains a top priority for the government. He stressed that the welfare of the overseas Pakistani workers remains the top priority of the government, assuring that they can reach out to him directly at any time for the resolution of their issues.
The Pakistani community in Qatar expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain for their exemplary initiatives and continuous efforts for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis.
The delegation also commended the reforms within the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) and the robust, positive measures taken for expatriates, acknowledging the Minister’s personal dedication and commitment to enhancing services for the Pakistani diaspora.
