Minister reviews Islamabad Model Jail project, opening planned next month
ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry chaired an important meeting to review progress on the Islamabad Model Jail project, which has remained pending for the last 15 years.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi directed officials to complete all remaining work without delay and decided that the facility would be inaugurated next month.
The meeting reviewed in detail the ongoing work on the Islamabad Model Jail project, including construction, administrative arrangements and preparations for the inauguration. Officials briefed the participants on the status of the remaining tasks and measures being taken to complete the project.
Mohsin Naqvi instructed the relevant authorities to ensure the early completion of all outstanding work. He directed that every necessary step required for the completion of the project should be taken on time so that the inauguration can take place as scheduled next month.
The Interior Minister emphasized that all construction, administrative and other required matters must be completed before the inauguration. He said there should be no unnecessary delay at any level and stressed that there was no room for any further delay in the completion of the project, which has remained pending for 15 years.
He further directed all concerned institutions to work in coordination and maintain close communication to ensure the project is completed within the prescribed timeframe. Mohsin Naqvi said all pending matters should be resolved before the opening of the facility.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry informed the meeting that he is personally overseeing the completion process of the Islamabad Model Jail project. He said he visits the site every week to review progress and monitor the pace of work.
Talal Chaudhry stated that continuous monitoring of the project is being carried out and that all concerned institutions are working together to ensure its completion within the scheduled timeline.
The meeting also reviewed the remaining work, administrative arrangements and preparations related to the inauguration in detail.
Director General FIA, the Federal Prosecutor General, Inspector General Islamabad Police, Director General NCCIA and other relevant officers attended the meeting.
