ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP): Minister of State for National Food Security and Research, Malik Rasheed Ahmed Khan, on Friday termed the federal budget a balanced and people-friendly document, saying it was prepared under extremely challenging economic circumstances while avoiding the imposition of new taxes on the general public.
Speaking to media, he said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Finance Minister had presented a budget that did not introduce any new taxes on ordinary citizens.
He noted that additional taxation had mainly been imposed on luxury vehicles, while key sectors of the economy had been provided relief measures.
He highlighted that the salaried class had been given a seven percent increase in salaries, which would help ease financial pressures on government employees. He also pointed out that measures had been taken to support the agriculture sector, which remains a vital contributor to the national economy.
He further said that the government had reduced property-related taxes to facilitate the business community and encourage investment. These measures, he added, would help promote economic activity and create a more favorable environment for businesses to grow.
“Considering the prevailing economic conditions and fiscal constraints, this is a very good budget,” he said, expressing confidence that the government’s policies would contribute to economic stability and growth while providing relief to various segments of society.
