ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Police Academy in Islamabad and reviewed the ongoing development and upgradation projects.
During the visit, he inspected various facilities being improved at the academy and stressed the importance of completing all projects within the stipulated timeframe and according to approved standards.
In his visit to the academy, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also toured the model rooms prepared for under-training officers. He examined the facilities being developed for the trainees and received a briefing on the progress of different projects underway at the institution.
Later, the Interior Minister chaired a meeting to review progress on the academy’s upgradation plans. During the meeting, he directed the authorities to undertake the reconstruction of the conference room and auditorium as part of the improvement process.
Mohsin Naqvi instructed that all projects should be completed within the prescribed timeline with proper planning and in line with quality standards. He said that Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry is reviewing the academy’s upgradation projects on a daily basis to ensure timely implementation.
The Interior Minister also directed the provision of modern training equipment for under-training officers on the pattern of SWAT teams. He said that officers should be equipped with the tools and training necessary to meet professional requirements.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi issued instructions to engage qualified and experienced faculty members for the Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC). The participants also decided to recommend the inclusion of modern modules on digital policing and artificial intelligence in the MCMC curriculum.
The Interior Minister said that aligning police training with contemporary requirements is essential for further improving the standards of the police force. He emphasized that updated training methods and modern learning modules can help officers better respond to emerging challenges and professional responsibilities.
The meeting was attended by the Commandant of the National Police Academy, officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and other relevant authorities.
