Minister Musadik Malik reviews flood preparedness along River Chenab

ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (APP):Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, visited the River Chenab on Thursday to assess flood preparedness measures and meet with rescue personnel and local communities.
The visit comes amid ongoing concerns over rising river levels and the potential risk to nearby populations.
During his inspection, Dr. Malik praised the dedication of rescue teams stationed along the riverbanks, highlighting their tireless efforts in safeguarding lives.
“It is through the hard work and sacrifices of our rescue institutions that precious lives can be protected,” he said, acknowledging their commitment to public service.
The Minister also engaged with local residents to listen to their concerns and evaluate the support needed to mitigate risks.
He reviewed precautionary and administrative measures currently in place along the river, emphasizing that citizen safety and property protection remain the government’s top priority.
Dr. Malik assured that all available resources would be deployed to address flood-related threats, pledging timely and effective responses to any emergencies.
“The Government of Pakistan is committed to ensuring that our communities are safe and well-prepared for any potential disaster,” he said.
