ISLAMABAD, Aug 30 (APP): Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed Tuesday expressed satisfaction over the progress of National Highway Authority road construction projects.

This he said during his visit to NHA Headquarters where he was briefed about its ongoing projects.

Chairman NHA Shahid Ashraf Tarar who gave the briefing multi-media about China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other important highway projects of the authority said that for the first time in its history has saved Rs 200 billion in its road projects.

He said that transparency was the hallmark of NHA projects as rules and regulations were being strictly followed.

He said that as per directives of the Prime Minister several projects have been completed while some others are near completion.

Sheikh Aftab hoped that construction of Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway and Swat road will be constructed keeping in view aspirations of the people of the respective areas.

He said that completion of ongoing NHA projects will boost trade, agriculture and tourism in the country, and it will boost the national economy while the people will travel on the modern roads.
