Minister CA&DD chairs meeting on extension of polyclinic hospital

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP): Minister of State for Capital Administration
and Development Division (CA&DD), Barrister Usman Ibrahim Tuesday chaired meeting of steering committee for extension of Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital and acquisition of land.
The Minister directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to
submit the demand notice of requisite amount and demarcate the land
for this purpose so that the development work could be commenced.
He said that feasibility study for this project should be carried out
for which an amount of Rs 12 million had already been disbursed to PWD.
He also directed the Planning Commission to disburse 100% amount to
the tune of Rs 55.321 million that were set aside for this project.
Technical Evaluation Committee had also been constituted by the
Minister to look after the technical matters relating to the project
Dr. Zahid Hussain, Executive Director Polyclinic and Dr. Iftikhar
Naru, Joint Executive Director Polyclinic thanked the Minister for initiating the long pending matter of extension of Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital (FGPC) which was increasingly becoming inadequate because of growing number of patients.
“This was a project that was lying in the cold storage for years. We
have got the approval of the Cabinet for the extension of Polyclinic only
through continuous follow up and interest of the minister”, they said”.
Usman Ibrahim also directed the committee to keep continuous
follow up of the issue and directed the stakeholder to expedite the process
as much time had been elapsed in the earlier years.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of CA&DD, Polyclinic,
PWD and Planning Commission.
