ISLAMABAD, Dec 30 (APP): Dr Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), in collaboration with the Lions Clubs of Rawalpindi–Islamabad and Bardasht, Pakistan, organized a Mega Medical Camp at the Syeda Hafeeza Begum Welfare Complex, Tarnol, Islamabad, aimed at improving access to essential healthcare services and promoting disease prevention among underserved communities.
The camp benefited over 1500 individuals, including a large number of women, elderly citizens, and children. Beneficiaries expressed relief and gratitude at receiving timely medical attention, diagnostic services, and medicines in one location—many noting that such access significantly reduced their healthcare burden and encouraged early consultation for ongoing health concerns, said a release issued here on Tuesday.
Medical consultations were provided across a broad range of specialties, including Pediatrics, Gynecology, Psychiatry, Urology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Kidney Care, Dermatology, Physical Therapy, as well as Dental and Eye care services.
Diagnostic and screening facilities such as ECG, bone density testing, BMI assessment, blood sugar testing, and blood pressure monitoring were also made available. Medicines were provided to patients by ANTH and Bardasht Pakistan, ensuring comprehensive care for all beneficiaries.
Dr. Arif Masood, Lions Clubs District Governor 305 N2, Pakistan, attended the camp as Chief Guest and appreciated the initiative, highlighting the importance of community-based healthcare programs in strengthening preventive care and facilitating early diagnosis, particularly for populations with limited access to medical facilities.
Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar, Patron-in-Chief of Bardasht Pakistan and former Senator and Federal Minister, thanked Akbar Naizi Teaching Hospital and Lions Clubs, and observed that collaborative efforts of this nature play a vital role in bridging gaps in healthcare access and raising public awareness about health and wellness.
Mr Yasir Khan Niazi, Group CEO, GAK HealthCare International and ANTH, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to community welfare, emphasizing the need to extend quality healthcare services beyond hospital settings through sustained outreach and preventive health initiatives.
The dignitaries alongside the President of Bardasht Pakistan, Dr Zubair Hasan, toured the camp, interacted with healthcare professionals and patients, and reviewed the services being delivered. Organizers stated that the primary objective of the Mega Medical Camp was not only to provide essential medical support but also to promote healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare practices. The initiative was widely appreciated by local residents, who described it as timely, reassuring, and impactful.
