Meeting to review progress on MES in NAB held

ISLAMABAD, Sep 9 (APP): Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Friday said NAB was committed to performing its national duty with absolute professionalism, transparently and on merit for a corruption free Pakistan.

He was chairing a meeting held here to review the latest progress on NAB’s Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES).

Advisor to Chairman on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) gave a detailed presentation on MES in NAB and its efficacy in future.

Qamar Zaman Ch. said MES is important to have measurable impact on expected outcomes and added MES would help in identifying the most valuable and efficient use of resources.

MES provides necessary data to guide strategic planning and helps improving performance and achieving results to improve current and future management of outputs, outcomes and impact.

He said the purpose of MES in NAB is to track implementation and outputs systematically, and measure effectiveness of programmes which help determine exactly when a programme is on track and when changes may be needed.

The Chairman said MES forms basis for modification of interventions and assessing quality of activities being conducted.

He directed all Regional Bureaus to conduct complaint verification, inquiries and investigation as per laid down laws/SOPs.

Earlier, the meeting was informed pilot project of NAB Rawalpindi has been started to have first hand information about working of MES which will be addressed in consultation
with all relevant wings.
