Meeting decides to formulate committee to resolve issues regarding distribution of net hydel profits
APP52-25 ISLAMABAD: January 25 – Prime Minister Imran Khan chairs meeting regarding Energy Issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. APP

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP):A meeting about various energy issues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday decided formulation of a Committee regarding resolution of various matters about distribution of net hydel profits among the provinces and the A.G.N Kazi formula.
The meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan was attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan, Chief Minister KPK Mehmood Khan, Chairman Task Force for Energy Nadeem Babar, Advisor to Chief Minister KP Himayat Ullah and senior officials.

The meeting was told that the committee would present its recommendations for future line of action in that regard.
The meeting also deliberated upon production of oil and gas in KP, progress on various energy schemes and energy issues in the province.
The meeting also decided to assist the KP province in providing facility of wheeling to sale the electricity produced in the province to other provinces and parts of the country.
The meeting was told that the provincial government would present strategy in one month to stop stealing of locally produced gas.
The meeting decided to ensure provision of a reasonable share in profits achieved from the areas where oil and gas were produced.
Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan briefed the meeting about reorganization of distribution of electricity in PESCO region and the steps taken to install modern technology there. The meeting also decided reorganization of PESCO Board.
The prime minister was also briefed about completion and progress regarding micro hydel project community. The prime minister was briefed that 365 micro hydle projects would be handed over to the community in the next three months.
It was told that final shape was being given to the law regarding establishing energy projects in collaboration with private partnership.
Chairman Energy Task Force Nadeem Babar briefed the meeting about energy situation in the country. He told the meeting that assessment of demand and supply of energy for the next 25 years had been prepared keeping in view the Gross Domestic Product and development of the country, which would be presented to the Prime Minister very soon.
The Prime Minister was briefed that all energy projects during the next ten years would be based on renewable energy.
