QUETTA, Jan 10 (APP): Minister of State and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Ms. Marvi Memon on Sunday held a meeting with Balochistan Assembly Speaker Ms Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani and members and urged them to play their due role to ensure access of the poor and deserving women of different districts to the BISP.
She visited the Balochistan Assembly in the evening and held a meeting with the Speaker and members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) belonging to different political parties.
She said: “BISP and Prime Minister Interest-Free Loan Programme are
revolutionary programmes which have been helping in empowering women and
to make them financially independent.”
The BISP, she said, had focused on Balochistan in order to eliminate poverty and remove backwardness from here.
She said that the China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) would also bring prosperity for the women of Balochistan by generating thousands of jobs. She would take up the issue of blockage of some national identity cards with the Prime Minister and other authorities concerned in Islamabad,
she added. Appreciating the role and services of Ms Marvi Memon for women, Speaker Ms Durrani said that the BISP was bringing a positive change in Balochistan by financially helping poor women and empowering them.
“Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif selected a best team to run BISP for poverty elimination and poverty management,” she said.Pashtoonkhawa Milli Awami Party parliamentary leader Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal and other MPAs were present in the meeting.
