ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (APP): Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said Information Service Academy (ISA) needs to act pro-actively and structured as premier communication and media training institute.
Chairing a high level meeting at ISA here she said the academy should be capable of providing and identifying diverse training opportunities for officials, for their capacity building both professionally and academically.
The minister said, “training of the Government officers from the private sector in skills of media management should be in line with the modern and global trends and latest techniques of publicity including the effective use of social media to project and promote the positive image of Pakistan.”
Media seminars, she said on issues of national and public importance, along with specific focus group discussions must be organized and executed often to ensure smooth flow of communication among the stakeholders concerned.
The outline of future training courses should be well-structured, planned and aligned with latest technological shifts, said Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Professional media training institutes both at regional and international levels and their respective training modules need to be explored and a comprehensive strategy should be devised for the new proposed training plan accordingly.
She directed the authorities concerned to chalk out annual training plan with quarterly calendar and pre-defined key performance indicators.
The Minister of State further emphasised upon the need for enhanced public-private partnership in designing future training programmes.
