ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP): In a display of national pride and unity, Pakistan’s diplomatic missions across the globe observed the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq (The Battle of Truth), paying rich tributes to the unmatched valor and professional excellence of the Pakistan armed forces.
The ceremonies highlighted the resounding rejection of Indian aggression and a celebration of Pakistan’s resolute defence of its sovereignty during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos when the Pakistani forces proved themselves as an iron wall against nefarious designs, through a decisive response shattered Indian aggressive ambitions

The special message of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar was also read out at the ceremonies.
WASHINGTON D.C.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington held a ceremony to mark the anniversary attended by a large number of Pakistani community members, who expressed strong love for the motherland and spirit of patriotism.
Slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and national songs created an emotional atmosphere.
The participants reaffirmed their resolve to make any sacrifice for the protection, integrity and dignity of Pakistan. The armed forces were warmly saluted for their defence of the country.
In his address, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh highlighted the significance of Marka-e-Haq and said that Pakistani forces, civil-military leadership and the entire nation had left an indelible mark on the country’s integrity and honour.
He said that Pakistan lies in one of the world’s most important and sensitive regions and recalled Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of Pakistan becoming a centre of the world. He stressed that the nation will never allow any compromise on its honour and dignity.
He also appreciated President Trump’s positive role in the ceasefire between the two nuclear powers and called for national unity for Pakistan’s security and development.
NEW YORK
The first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq was commemorated at a community event in New York, with speakers, including Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, hailing it as a defining moment of national unity and paying tributes to the armed forces for their role in the 2025 Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
The event was jointly organized by the Pakistan Mission to the United Nations and the Consulate General in New York under the theme “Commemorating Pakistan’s Victory, Resilience, Resolve and Pursuit of Peace.” A large number of members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, community leaders, academics, and representatives of civil society participated.
In his opening remarks, the Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamer Ahmed Atozai, stated that Marka-e-Haq represented a defining moment in Pakistan’s history which demonstrated the nation’s unity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of Pakistan and commended the professionalism and courage of the Armed Forces.
Senator Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Dr. Gholam Mujtaba, Chairman of the Pakistan Policy Institute, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Secretary General of the World Kashmir Awareness Forum, Ali Rashid, a community leader, and Taj Khan, Kashmiri activist, highlighted that the success of Marka-e-Haq reflected the unity, resilience, and collective resolve of the Pakistani nation. They also paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered for the defence and security of the homeland.
The speakers also reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on Jammu and Kashmir and stressed that lasting peace and stability in South Asia remained linked to the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

In his key-note address, Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to the UK Haseeb bin Aziz stated that this gathering pays highest tribute to Pakistan’s heroic Armed Forces; our fearless soldiers, sailors, and airmen, who stood as an iron shield in defence of our sacred land. With unmatched courage, unwavering resolve, and exemplary professionalism, the Armed Forces of Pakistan upheld the dignity and honour of the green and white flag.
During Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, their response was swift, decisive, and precise; demonstrating a level of operational excellence that earned recognition across the world. He also appreciated the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom, who stood as true Ambassadors of Pakistan by defending homeland with conviction, and demonstrating unwavering solidarity.
Defence & Naval Adviser, Cdre. Jawad Khawaja SI(M) SBt. and Army & Air Adviser Col. Mohsin Waqar in their remarks stated that Pakistan’s defense forces, in exemplary unison, thwarted nefarious designs of the enemy and protected the sovereignty of Pakistan.

Turkish Member of Parliament H.E Burhan Kayatürk reiterated Türkiye’s steadfast support for Pakistan and emphasized that strong defence capabilities serve as a deterrent to conflict and preserve peace by preventing aggression. He also commended Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability, including its calls for restraint and dialogue amid regional tensions.
President Geostrategic Foresight Institute, Dr. Güray Alpar highlighted the importance of peace, dialogue, and adherence to international law in resolving regional disputes, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir issue. He appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement for regional peace and stressed that vital resources such as water must never be weaponized.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Abdul Hameed emphasized that Marka-e-Haq represented not only a defining moment in Pakistan’s history but is also a reflection of the nation’s collective resilience, preparedness and determination. He stated that the people of Pakistan stand united with their Armed Forces in the defense of the homeland and in the pursuit of peace with dignity.

The commemoration highlighted Pakistan’s resolute and responsible response during the events of May 2025, underscoring the strategic foresight of Pakistan’s leadership and the professionalism, courage, and preparedness of its armed forces in safeguarding national security.

SRI LANKA
The commemoration event hosted by Pakistan’s High Commission in was attended by members of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces, and officers from the Armed Forces of Pakistan, wherein the High Commissioner Major General (Retd) Dr. Nayyar Naseer recounted the events of early 2025.
He noted that following a false flag operation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Territory of Pahalgam on April 22 and subsequent Indian aggression on May 6-7, the Pakistan armed forces responded precisely and responsibly on May 10, targeting only military installations in self-defense.
He emphasized that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains the central factor contributing to instability in the region and called for a durable and peaceful resolution in line with UN Security Council Resolutions.
The occasion also provided a platform to reaffirm the importance of dialogue and the longstanding, friendly relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which are built on mutual respect and cooperation across trade, education, and defense.
Closing the commemoration, the High Commissioner renewed the resolve to uphold truth, justice, and peace in all collective endeavors. He expressed a steadfast commitment to deepening the bilateral partnership with Sri Lanka to foster regional stability and prosperity for future generations.
IRAQ
To commemorate the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, a dinner was hosted by Ambassador Muhammad Zeeshan Ahmed in honour of members of the Pakistani community in Baghdad.
Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador highlighted the significance of Marka-e-Haq and paid rich tribute to the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces, as well as the resilience and unity of the Pakistani nation.
He stated that Marka-e-Haq reflects Pakistan’s firm resolve to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national honour.
The Ambassador also underlined Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in promoting peace and dialogue at the regional and international levels.
He particularly highlighted Pakistan’s important contribution towards facilitating the ceasefire between the United States, Israel and Iran, and in encouraging Iran and the United States to return to the negotiating table after a long gap of nearly 47 years.
SPAIN
A ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Madrid to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of Marka-e-Haq / Bunyan-um-Marsoos. During the event, messages of Pakistani leadership were read out to the audience.
A video was projected in homage to the valor, sacrifice, and steadfastness of Pakistan’s brave soldiers during the defense of the homeland. At the end, a special dua was performed for the martyrs of Marqa-e-Haq. Members of the Pakistani and Spanish communities attended the event.
NEW ZEALAND

ROMANIA
The participants at the anniversary event hosted by Pakistan Embassy in Bucharest paid rich tribute to the martyrs and defenders of Pakistan.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Ilyas Nizami underscored that Pakistan prefers dialogue and diplomacy over conflict and confrontation. However, it remains ready to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of any aggression.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Bangkok commemorated Marka-e-Haq and the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with members of the Pakistani diaspora, students, and families.
The event featured speeches, documentaries, children’s activities, and a vibrant flag presentation by young children, reflecting patriotism, unity, and remembrance of the sacrifices made by the armed forces for Pakistan.
CHICAGO
Pakistan Consulate in Chicago brought together the Pakistan-American community to commemorate 1st anniversary of Marka-e-Haq.
The speakers paid rich tributes to Pakistan’s valiant armed forces. The consul general thanked community for support and said that Pakistan desired peace but remains fully prepared to defend itself.
Apart from the community event, the 1st anniversary of Marka-e-Haq was also marked at Consulate, joined by visitors and community members from across Midwest.
The gathering paid tribute to Pakistan’s unity, resilience and sacrifices made in safeguarding nation’s sovereignty & territorial integrity.
AFGHANISTAN
Commemorating the first anniversary of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos at the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul, Ambassador Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to defend itself against any aggression, stating that the enemy attacked the nation and the armed forces of Pakistan responded valiantly on behalf of every Pakistani.
“Pakistan’s desire for peace must never be mistaken for weakness,” the Ambassador emphasized, calling for heightened vigilance against emerging threats in the region. He cited the recent election in West Bengal which had resulted in renewed, systemic violence against the Muslims of West Bengal as a warning sign of renewed anti-Muslim policies in India, adding that in such volatile times, the nation’s unequivocal backing of its armed forces is imperative for the national security.
Ambassador Nizamani, while saluting the unwavering courage of Kashmiri Muslims, reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to Pakistan’s principled stand of providing moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiris right to self-determination as enshrined in the various UNSC resolutions.

JORDAN
The anniversary event organized by Pakistan embassy in Jordan was attended by prominent Jordanian personalities from different walks of life; members of Pakistani community in Jordan; as well as embassy officers and staff members.
Ambassador Major General Khurram Sarfraz Khan, in his address, highlighted that the Marka-e-Haq had become deeply etched in national consciousness of Pakistanis across the world, as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering patriotism of the entire Pakistani Nation.
