ISLAMABAD, Sep 06 (APP):President and Acting Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmad, on Saturday paid tribute to Pakistan’s Armed Forces on Defence Day, praising their courage, professionalism and sacrifices for the country.
In his message, Prof Alahmad said the day was an opportunity to honour the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of Pakistan and its people.
“As a Saudi and as the President and Acting Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad, this tribute is deeply personal for me. Pakistan has come to feel like home,” he said.
Prof Alahmad said the recent Makkah Joint Defence Agreement had further strengthened the close ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
He described the agreement as a symbol of the trust, brotherhood and shared commitment to security between the two countries.
“I cannot regard Pakistan’s Armed Forces as Pakistan’s alone; they are partners in our shared security,” he said, adding that he saluted the armed forces with a deep sense of pride and fraternity.
He also appreciated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and sustainability and prayed for the protection and prosperity of Pakistan, its people and defenders.
“May Allah protect Pakistan, its people and its defenders, and strengthen the bonds that unite our nations and the Muslim Ummah,” he prayed.
Prof. Dr. Alahmad, an internationally recognized scholar, has represented IIUI at various national and international forums and has emphasized improving higher education standards and promoting excellence at the university.
His presence in Islamabad, particularly at a significant time in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, reflects the strong bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries.
