Main procession on its way

LAHORE, Oct 24 (APP): The main procession taken out
from the Nisar Haveli on Friday night was passing through its
traditional routes amid tight security.
The procession will conclude at Karbala Gamay Shah
on Saturday evening after passing through Imambargah Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Chowk Nawab Sahib, Koocha Qazi Khana,Imambargah Molvi Feroz Ali, Koocha Miskeenan, Mohalla Peer Gillanian, Imambargah Syed Rajab Ali Shah, Chauhatta Mufti Baqir, Chowk Kotwali, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sonehri Masjid, Dabbi Bazaar, Gumtti Bazaar, Rang Mahal Chowk, Syed Mittha Bazaar,Tehsil Bazaar, Bazaar Hakimaan, Ucchi Masjid and Bhatti Chowk.
A large number of ‘Sabeels’ of juices, milk and water
were set up along the procession route to facilitate the
mourners.
Security was beefed up enormously and four-tier cordoned in and around venues of Majalis and processions,,including the main procession, was put in place.
An aerial surveillance was also being carried out to monitor
security in the provincial capital and nearby cities.
The law-enforcement agencies scanned the routes of
processions with scanners. All senior police officers,
including CCPO Lahore Capt (retd) Amin Wains and DIG
Operations Dr Haider Ashraf were personally monitoring
security arrangements in their respective areas.
As many as 15,000 security personnel were performing
duties in the city while 5,000 policemen were deployed at the route of the central procession.
