ISLAMABAD, Jun 27 (APP):A ceremonial event marking 27 June, Press and Mass Media Workers’ Day was held in Tashkent, during which the winners of the 20th International Competition for the “Golden Pen National Award” were honored.
At this prestigious competition, Muhammad Abbas Khan, the permanently accredited correspondent in Uzbekistan for one of Pakistan’s leading “Daily Ittehad Media Group”, was awarded Second Prize in the best material about Uzbekistan by a foreign journalist category of the “Golden Pen National Award.”
For many years, Muhammad Abbas Khan has been providing the Pakistani public with objective and comprehensive coverage of the large-scale democratic, political, and socio-economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the international initiatives advanced by the President of Uzbekistan, and the country’s efforts to promote regional cooperation and sustainable development, said a release issued here on Saturday.
His analytical articles and interviews have made a significant contribution to strengthening Uzbekistan’s international standing, fostering an objective understanding of the country, and further developing the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The journalist has devoted particular attention to introducing the international community to the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance vision advanced by the President of Uzbekistan. In particular, in 2025, he authored the Urdu-language book titled  Uzbekistan: The Third Renaissance Concept of the Future.
The book provides a comprehensive analysis of the reforms being carried out in New Uzbekistan, highlighting a development model based on science, education, innovation, and human capital.
The significance of the publication was further enhanced by a foreword written by Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The book was officially launched in both Islamabad and Tashkent in 2025 through high-level events attended by government officials, public figures, diplomats, scholars, experts, and representatives of the media. The publication received widespread public interest and was highly appreciated.
In addition, Muhammad Abbas Khan has produced numerous analytical articles, interviews, and reports covering political developments in Uzbekistan, international forums, trade, economic and investment cooperation, transport and communication projects, cultural and humanitarian relations, tourism, as well as regional security and sustainable development.
His professional work has played an important role in promoting Uzbekistan’s open and pragmatic foreign policy, investment potential, economic reforms, and the new opportunities emerging in the country to the international community.
Muhammad Abbas Khan’s receipt of the Golden Pen National Award is a well-deserved recognition of his many years of distinguished journalistic service and his valuable contribution to providing objective, reliable, and insightful coverage of Uzbekistan on the international stage.
