LAHORE,Oct 24 (APP): The Lahore High Court Monday constituted a full bench to hear pleas seeking directions to restrain Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan from shutting down Islamabad on November 2.
The three-judges bench comprising Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq and Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan will hear the identical civil miscellaneous applications filed by Atif Sattar and Lawyers Foundation for Justice in pending petitions.
The bench will take up hearing on October, 26.
The petitioners’ through their applications had submitted that respondent Imran Khan,while addressing a gathering at Raiwind on September 30,had announced to shut down Islamabad.
They said that if Islamabad was shut down then the Parliament, Supreme Court, Cabinet Secretariat and other important institutions would become dysfunctional.
The petitioners contended that the fundamental right of freedom of speech was not an absolute right and it was subject to security,integrity and public order.
They pleaded with the court to restrain the respondent from shutting down Islamabad.
