LGH administration takes action against fraudster, security guard
LAHORE, Sep 09 (APP):The Lahore General Hospital (LGH) administration has taken action against an alleged fraudster and his accomplice, a private security guard, for defrauding the attendant of a patient at the Neurosurgery Outpatient Department. Both suspects were handed over to the police.
According to an LGH spokesperson on Wednesday, Sudhir Ahmed, a resident of Jhelum district, informed the hospital administration that doctors had advised a CT scan for his female patient, Mafia. Private security guard Rafiqat Rasool allegedly told him that he could arrange an early CT scan and directed him to contact Ahmad Tasawwur.
The alleged fraudster, Ahmad Tasawwur, reportedly took Rs3,500 from the patient’s attendant and took him to the emergency department for the CT scan. However, the CT scan was conducted free of charge at the emergency department.
Police have initiated legal proceedings on the application submitted by Sudhir Ahmed, son of Shams Din.
Medical Superintendent Lahore General Hospital Professor Dr Fayyaz Hussain said that the administration would not tolerate any kind of fraud or illegal collection of money from patients and their attendants.
He urged citizens to always check the official receipt while paying fees for any test and never hand over money to anyone without obtaining an official receipt.
Professor Dr Fayyaz Hussain further said that strict legal and administrative action would be taken without discrimination against anyone found creating hurdles in the provision of medical facilities to patients
