Leather goods export rise 13.45% to $118mln in 2 months
ISLAMABAD, Sep 30 (APP):The leather goods exports witnessed an increase of 13.45 percent during the first two months of the current financial year (2026-27) as compared to the exports of the corresponding months of last year.
Pakistan exported leather goods worth US $118.372 million during July-August (2026-27) against the exports of $104.337 million during July-August (2025-26), according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Among the leather products, exports of leather garments increased by 13.44 percent by going up from $49.677 million last year to $56.355 million during the current year.
The leather gloves exports also rose by 13.06 percent to $59.208 million from $52.368 million.
Likewise, the exports of all other leather goods also increased by 22.55 percent during the period under review as these went up from $2.292 million last year to $2.809 million during the current financial year.
Meanwhile, year-on-year basis, leather goods’ exports witnessed an increase of 10.61 percent during the month of August 2026, as compared to the same month of last year.
The leather exports during August 2026 were recorded at $56.477 million against the exports of $51.062 million in August 2025.
During the period under review, the leather garments and gloves exports also increased by 6.61 and 13.42 percent respectively, in addition, the exports of other leather goods also rose by 34.86 percent.
On month-on-month basis, however, exports of leather manufactures decreased by 8.75 percent during August 2026 as compared to the exports of $61.895 million in July 2026, the PBS data revealed.
On month-on-month basis, the exports of leather garments and leather gloves declined by 13.95 and 4.14 percent respectively while the export of all other leather manufactures also dipped by 4.44 percent.
