ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (APP):Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Friday said that leadership in information technology could bring change in Pakistan which can bring modernization in important fields.
While addressing 15th PASHA ICT awards ceremony, the minister said the promise by the present leadership for better Pakistan was only possible with the support of leadership in the field of information technology.
The minister said the present government aimed to improve quality of education in the subject of information technology to create jobs. He said, “For IT education, we need to establish regulatory body and take steps that bring positive changes”. “With new ideas and through solving the problems of the sector, we can excel in the field and compete with international competitors”, he expressed.
Chairman Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (PASHA) Burqan Saeed said, the annual P@SHA ICT Awards aimed to provide recognition to the software and service companies of Pakistan by providing opportunities to get local, regional and international exposure. He said the awards recognized the achievements of home-grown Pakistani innovators by acknowledging creativity, innovation and excellence in Pakistan’s Information and Communications Technologies sector.
