Lawyers have important role to play in ensuring rule of law: Fawad

ISLAMABAD, Mar 18 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Monday said the lawyers’ community had an important role to play in ensuring the rule of law and implementation of the Constitution in the country.
The minister was talking to a delegation of Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA), which called on him here. The delegation was led by IHC bar President Raja Inam Minhas.
Fawad said lawyers were guardians of the Constitution, rule of law, democracy and human rights. The resolution of the problems being faced by the legal fraternity was the top priority of the present elected dispensation and being a lawyer he himself was aware of their problems, he added.
The minister said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government wanted to bring revolutionary changes in justice system. The bar and the bench had to play their roles in improving the justice system, he added.
He said all the national institutions were working in unison to bring real change in the country.
The IHCBA delegation comprised Vice President Imtiaz Cheema, Joint Secretary Waqar Gondal, Secretary Library Asif Gujjar, Member Executive Abdul Ghani Channa and Member Executive Nasir Iqbal.
