ISLAMABAD, July 13 (APP): The Laws Review Committee Wednesday held detailed discussion on the legislation which is to be placed before the Parliament, besides finalizing the proposals regarding pending legislation which were in the pipeline.
Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting, which among others was attended by Minister for Law Zahid Hamid, Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, special assistants to the Prime Minister Khwaja Zaheer Ahmed and Barrister Zafarullah, and Secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hasan Fawad.
The committee also discussed the possibility of holding of a joint session of parliament for finalizing outstanding legislative business.
The minister, on the occasion shared with the committee members the progress regarding the appointment of the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He also apprised the members of the progress of deliberations on electoral reforms and stated that the proposals in that regard would be finalized soon.
