Law Minister holds meeting with PM AJK, discuses 13th Amendment in AJK constitution

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP):Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Farogh Naseem held a meeting with Prime Minister of Azad Jammu
and Kashmir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, and other officials from AJK to discuss the 3th Amendment in The AJK
Interim Constitution Act, 1974.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss issues related to the amendment and close coordination with the AJK
Government on the matter, said a press release.
Prime Minister of AJK was of the view that people of AJK want to have greater authority through their elected representatives. He said that devolution of additional legislative, administrative and financial powers to the State Government
will be helpful in a number of ways including eradication of corruption.
He was also of the opinion that Indian propaganda regarding the Amendment needs to be countered as India is always
busy exploiting the situation.
Federal Law Minister thanked the AJK Prime Minister for attending the meeting and ensured that the purpose of the
meeting was to ensure that the laws and constitutions of both Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir were not violated.
He ensured the Prime Minister of full support from the Pakistani Government for the eradication of corruption.
Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Ms. Maleeka Bokhari and Secretary Law Justice A. S. Paracha were
also present at the occasion.
