ISLAMABAD, Jul 22 (APP):Torrential rains and heavy landslides have swept away a critical link bridge on the Babusar–Chilas section of the N-15 Highway, disrupting traffic flow and clearance operations in the region.
According to a spokesperson for the National Highway Authority (NHA), due to bridge collapse, the N-15 route has been temporarily closed to all traffic, and ongoing road clearance efforts have also been affected by the severe weather conditions.
The NHA has advised all travelers commuting from Naran to Chilas and vice versa to avoid using the N-15 route and instead opt for the Karakoram Highway (KKH) as an alternative.
The spokesperson warned of further landslides due to the forecast of continued adverse weather in northern areas, and appealed to citizens to refrain from unnecessary travel to the region until conditions improve.
