ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP):Honorary Consul Kyrgyzstan Meher Kashif Younis on Monday said the results-oriented and highly successful state visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Pakistan is set to open a new chapter of economic cooperation between the two brotherly Muslim countries.
He said the visit had laid a strong foundation for scaling up bilateral trade from the existing $15 million to nearly $200 million within the next two years, reflecting a renewed commitment to deepen regional connectivity, commercial partnerships and strategic collaboration, said a news release.
He said both countries have agreed to accelerate progress on multiple fronts, including energy cooperation, education, textile and pharmaceutical trade, industrial linkages, agriculture, and digital transformation.
President Japarov’s engagements with Pakistan’s top leadership, he added, were marked by mutual trust and a shared vision for regional prosperity, particularly through enhanced transport corridors to facilitate businessmen on both sides.
Meher Kashif said Kyrgyzstan’s strategic location in Central Asia offered Pakistan a gateway to untapped markets, while Pakistan provided a significant export base for Kyrgyz industries.
Strengthening business-to-business exchanges through joint business councils, promoting tourism and advancing cultural cooperation, he said, would further reinforce long-term collaboration in investment, logistics and bilateral trade.
Meher Kashif who was also part of joint business forum meetings in Islamabad said agreements and 15 MOUs signed in diversified sectors during the visit, will help unleash new opportunities for joint ventures, technology transfer, and capacity building.
Kyrgyzstan Ambassador to Pakistan Kylychbek Sultan contributed a great role in this visit by closely establishing constant liaison with either sides.
He said warm welcome and hospitality by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, including offering seaports access to Kyrgyz exporters for global markets and positive momentum generated by President Japarov’s visit will transform bilateral relations into a more dynamic, sustainable, and mutually beneficial partnership, paving the way for greater regional integration and shared economic growth.
