KPCTA, Cultural Center ‘Mafkoora’ sign MoU to promote cultural activities

PESHAWAR, Oct 16 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) and Cultural Center “Mafkoora” have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote cultural activities, art, heritage, literature and theatre across the province.
The ceremony was attended by Director Admin Omer Arshid Khan, Director Tourism Muhammad Ali Syed, Deputy Director Culture and Events Sanam Bashir, Mafkoora’s Creative Director Hayat Roghani, President Salman Mian and other.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Director General KPCTA Habib Ullah Arif said that tourism authority is taking steps on a priority basis for the promotion of culture and the welfare of artisans.
He added that the MoU will serve as a foundation for strengthening cultural cooperation and organizing joint events that highlight the province’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
He said that authority has already taken several initiatives for welfare of artists including the distribution of honoraria among them and revival of Nishtar Hall for cultural programs.
It is worth mentioning that KPCTA and Mafkoora would jointly organize cultural programs, art exhibitions, literary gatherings, and theatre performances in Peshawar and other districts of KP to promote art and revive cultural heritage.
