KP Govt announces compensation for earthquake victims: Ghani

PESHAWAR, Oct 27 (APP): The KP Government has announced compensation
package for the victims of powerful earthquake according to which
Rs 3 lakh would be given to each deceased and Rs 1 lakh to each
injured.
Similarly, Rs 100,000 would be given to owner of a destroyed house,
Rs 80000 to owner of a house containing one room was fully destroyed
besides Rs 50,000 for reconstruction of a damaged room and Rs 30,000 for construction of boundary walls of the affected houses as per the Govt policy.
The package was announced by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for
Information and Public Relations, Mustaq Ahmed Ghani in a press conference here Tuesday.
Funds reserved for emergency situation is available with district
administrations and there is no shortage of funds, he observed. He said the districts has Rs 544 million funds for relief activities besides Rs1.5billion funds are available with PDMA being utilized with approval of the Chief Minister for relief and assistance works in the affected areas.
He said PDMA Director General along with his team was in the affected
districts to supervise relief operations on grounds. He said PDMA Punjab, SDMA Kashmir and NDMA teams besides local and foreign NGOs are also
actively participating in the relief operations.
