Kohat administration tightens crackdown on illegal Afghan refugees, land encroachments

ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):In strict compliance with the clear directives of the provincial government, the district administration has accelerated the repatriation process of illegal Afghan refugees from Kohat, ensuring that the operation is carried out smoothly, effectively, and strictly in accordance with the law, the local  correspondent of APP reported this from Kohat on Wednesday, citing the sources of district administration.
According to the details, officials have categorically warned that any unauthorized occupation, encroachment, or illegal use of government or state-owned land in and around Afghan refugee camps will not be tolerated. The administration has made it clear that violators will face indiscriminate and stern legal action without any exception.
Meanwhile, to protect communal, government, and state properties and to curb unlawful activities, the district administration has enforced Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C). Under this provision, all forms of illegal occupation, misuse of land, and related activities have been declared punishable offenses.
The district administration has also appealed to the general public to extend full cooperation to law enforcement agencies. Citizens have been urged to promptly report any violations or suspicious activities to the concerned authorities, emphasizing that collective vigilance is essential to maintain law and order and safeguard public assets.
