Khichi expresses deep sorrow over demise of Arif Jafri

ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP):Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of Syed Arif Jafri, former Director of Performing Arts at the National Art Council.
In a statement, the Minister said that Syed Arif Jafri played a prominent role in the promotion of music in Pakistan and was among the country’s most renowned flute players.
He obtained advanced education in music from abroad and dedicated his life to nurturing and promoting musical talent.
Aurangzeb Khan Khichi said that the late artist’s remarkable contributions to the field of fine arts will always be remembered.
The Ministry of National Heritage and Culture pays rich tribute to his lifelong services.
The Minister added that the demise of Syed Arif Jafri is a great loss to the world of performing arts in Pakistan.
The late Syed Arif Jafri was also an accomplished author, best known for his book “Asian Music.”
