ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (APP):In a significant move to strengthen Pakistan’s science and technology landscape through global industry engagement, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi on Thursday held a high-level meeting with PepsiCo’s Regulatory Affairs Leadership Team to explore strategic collaboration in innovation, science-led regulation, and sustainable industrial growth.
The PepsiCo delegation comprised Ms. Natalia Douek, Vice President and Global Head of Regulatory Affairs; Mr. Virnon Richter, Regional Director; and Shahzad Sikander, Head of Regulatory Affairs.
The meeting focused on identifying avenues for cooperation in developing innovation-driven regulatory frameworks aligned with international best practices and Pakistan’s national priorities in research, technological advancement, and responsible business conduct.
Both sides underscored the importance of modern, transparent, and science-based regulatory systems that encourage innovation while ensuring consumer safety, environmental protection, and public trust.
Discussions also highlighted the critical role of evidence-based policymaking in fostering a competitive, sustainable, and resilient industrial ecosystem.
The engagement concluded with a reaffirmation of shared commitment to advancing science-based policies and strengthening public–private collaboration to support innovation-led growth and sustainable development in Pakistan.
