Kashmiri identity under threat as Modi regime pushes settler colonialism in IIOJK: APHC

ISLAMABAD, Jun 25 (APP):All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has warned that the Modi regime was plotting to deprive Kashmiris of their identity and culture, with India “hell bent” on converting Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Muslim majority into a minority.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar said India removed legal barriers for non-locals to settle in the occupied territory by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019.
Since then, IIOJK has witnessed huge demographic changes as the BJP-RSS systematically paves the way for settler colonialism.
He said the BJP regime was depriving Kashmiris of jobs and other opportunities in their own land to fulfill its long-held desire of total occupation.
“Kashmiris’ freedom movement will run out of steam if their identity is lost,” he warned, but added that brave and resilient Kashmiris would thwart India’s nefarious designs.
The spokesman urged the international community to take notice of India’s plans to alter the demography and erode Kashmiri identity in the disputed territory.
