ISLAMABAD, Feb 05 (APP):Mushaal Hussein Mulick, wife of incarcerated Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yasin Malik, on Kashmir solidarity day warned that Kashmir is not merely a political dispute but one of the world’s most dangerous nuclear flashpoints, as she issued a video message on Kashmir Solidarity Day urging the international community to end its silence over she described as systematic repression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In her message, Mushaal Mulick said that Yasin Malik is currently confined to a death cell, alleging that the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attempting to execute him in a bid to silence the Kashmiri leadership and suppress the freedom movement.
She stressed that the issue was not limited to one individual or one family, but reflected a broader attempt to collectively punish and silence the entire Kashmiri nation.
“Kashmir is not just a territorial issue; it is a nuclear flashpoint with serious implications for regional and global peace,” she said, adding that keeping Yasin Malik in a death cell was tantamount to sentencing an entire people for demanding their legitimate rights.
Mushaal Mulick continued that voices calling for peace and freedom in Kashmir had been criminalised, questioning whether seeking peace and liberty had now become a crime for Kashmiris.
“Every tear is restricted, every heartbeat lives in fear, what kind of justice is this?” she asked.
She further lamented what she termed the continued silence of the international community, stating that violence and state repression were being carried out openly in Kashmir without accountability.
Warning of grave consequences for regional stability, Mushaal Mulick said lasting peace could not be achieved under the shadow of injustice and denial of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
