Kanysh Satbayev Scientific and Educational Center launched at NUST

ISLAMABAD, Feb 02 (APP):The Kanysh Satbayev Scientific and Educational Center was formally inaugurated on Monday at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), marking a significant milestone in strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
The center was inaugurated by Kazakhstan’s Minister for Science and Higher Education, Mr. Sayasat Nurbek, during his official visit to Pakistan. Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, Rector NUST Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif, senior officials, academicians, and representatives from both countries were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi said the establishment of the Kanysh Satbayev Scientific and Educational Center reflects Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening international academic cooperation.
He noted that such initiatives would promote joint research, innovation, and knowledge exchange, while creating new opportunities for students and faculty of both countries.
Established in collaboration with Kazakhstan’s Satbayev University, the center aims to serve as a hub for scientific research, academic exchange, and cultural understanding.
It is envisioned as a dynamic platform to promote science education, joint research initiatives, and innovation while fostering closer institutional linkages between universities of the two countries.
Special emphasis at the center will be placed on highlighting the legacy of Kanysh Satbayev, the founder of Kazakhstan’s geological school and one of the country’s most distinguished scientists.
The facility will host joint research projects, academic programs, seminars, and educational activities, alongside initiatives to promote Kazakh culture and scientific heritage.
The establishment of the Kanysh Satbayev Scientific and Educational Center is expected to open new avenues for joint degree programs, faculty and student exchanges, scientific conferences, and support for startups and innovative projects, further strengthening academic and cultural ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
