Kamyab Naujawan program to promote SMEs, alleviate poverty: Experts

PESHAWAR, May 22 (APP):People from every walk of life including politicians, economists and youth here Wednesday highly lauded Kamyab Naujawan Program (successful youth) worth Rs100billion approved by Federal Cabinet and termed it momentous step forward to promote Small and Medium Entrepreneurship (SMEs) besides alleviate poverty and unemployment in the country.

Under this landmark program, youth would be provided loans between Rs100,000 to Rs 5million on easy terms and conditions, enabling them to establish their own business and contribute in process of national development.

Nasir Khan Musazai, PTI leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) told APP that more than 65 percent of the country’s population is between 18 to 35 years of age and the present elected Government is determined to help them in establishment of a dignified business through financial and economic empowerment.

He said Rs100 billion were allocated for Kamyab Naujawan Program under which loans would be provided on six percent and eight percent ratio whereas 25 percent quota was allocated for women, who are 52percent of the country’s total population to help stand on their own feet.

The PTI leader said small and medium business is a backbone of the economy and great potential existed in fish, milk and dairy farming, livestock, furniture industries, beekeeping, garments, beauty clinics, horticulture and flowers, footwear, interior decoration, Montessori school and medical stores etc for youth.

Musazai said Pakistan has inherited existing problems due to ill-policies of the past regimes and PTI Government was striving hard to take the country out of existing challenges. He said this positive program would help promote infant, SMEs industries besides trade and investment in Pakistan.

Financial and economics expert, Sumbul Riaz has also welcomed Kamayab Naujawan program of the Federal Government and declared it a significant step towards promotion of SMEs, infant industries, trade and business in the country.

She said such activities at large scale will help alleviate poverty and generates direct employment opportunities for youth and skill labour force.

Nazim Bahadar Khan, while welcoming the program, said youth of rural areas would be largely benefited of this ambition program as there is a great potential for horticulture, flowers, dairy and fish farming besides honey sector.

He said Pakistan’s honey was being preferred overseas especially in Gulf countries due to its batter quality and massive investment in this sector would help generate employment opportunities for thousands of youth.

The PTI leader said after merger of FATA into Khyber Pakthunkhwa, this program will be immensely beneficial for tribal youth and will enable them to establish their own businesses in marble, gems, livestock, furniture industries and contribute in process of national development.
